Is it just me or is the rear of the 7D a butt-ugly ergonomic

One would have thought that Minolta should have just built the
function in whenever the camera is in MF.

Never liked Minolta's ergonomics. They once made you buy an accessory
card to program a camera into Av, IIRC. I did have a Hi-Matic when I
was a kid though. That was one fun camera.
I really love the 7D, and find it very ergonomic. I find the mix of
dials and buttons just right, and it took me no time to get up to
speed on it. My review is in the current issue of Digital Camera
magazine. Of course I was shooting with Maxxum 7 and Maxxum 9 before,
so it was a natural transition.
Unlike you, I've liked the ergonomics of Minolta's recent cameras.
But that's just a personal preference thing, like whether you like
chocolate or vanilla better.

Fair enough. I should have added..."IMHO" I guess.
Maybe it's because I'm an engineer, and all those buttons would just be
an invitation for me to chimp. More chimping, less picture taking.
