Marnie, when I am done editing the image in the full size I usually do
the following.

1. Resize it to whatever size I like. Generally it is order of 700
pixels for landscape and 650 pixels for portrait oriented images.

2. Then I do the same trick just always. I do a high pass sharpening
with 0.5 radius (or whatever is the same of the parameter) and then set
the layer mode to Vivid Light. Then I would play with opacity of the
sharpening image until I get a result which is sharper than without this
layer, yet without any visible sharpening halos.

Usually it does the trick.

Uh. Thanks, Boris. Unfortunately #2 is passing right over my head. But maybe
I'll muck around with it and try it soon (still not layer familiar but getting
there).
