Here (US) they would certainly try to play that game, apparently they
are more enlightened in Canada.

wrong! at most, if they were contributing factors to the accident,
they would amount to contributory negligence on my part, and limit the
percenyage i can collect. but they are no bar from claiming or
collecting.
