Hi Dave, (Also sent to the PDML for anyone interested or comments.) Here's a shot of a lens mount with the adapter ring in place:
http://donsauction.com/pdml/53web.jpg (180k) This shows the lock spring position in relation to the "Red Dot". I would drill the hole about 2.5mm to the left of the dot. Here's a shot with the lens mounted: http://donsauction.com/pdml/59web.jpg (221k) The tip of the dental pick shows the position and angle that I would drill to reach the lock spring. Notice that the _tip_ of the pick is at about a 45 degree angle to the lens mount, don't go by the angle of the large part of the pick, just the very tip. A 1mm to 1.5mm hole should be sufficient, the smaller the better, less dust. If you keep blowing the drill dust clear as you work very little should get inside the camera. Be sure to rotate the lens as far as possible clockwise (as viewed from the front) before inserting the needle, this will take the pressure off the lock spring and make it easier to release. Try to get the hole in the correct position on the first try, once a hole is all the way thru you will be getting much more dust inside the camera if you have to re-drill. Get ALL of the dust out of the body BEFORE you fire the shutter! Good Luck!
