Samsung was marketing Samtron monitors, Trinitron tubes, either bought
from or built under license from Sony, with Samsung electronics. Not
bad monitors either.

Also one of the core businesses for Sony was CRT based on Trinitron
technology. While technologically brilliant it's now oveshadowed by
LCD/Plasma panels in which Samsung does much better.
