Hi!

Just have to add a "me too" to Bruce's general strategy.
My setup is 3x 1Gb and one 512Mb card, and a 30 Gb portable drive. Usually, I have to download to the portable drive once or twice a day.

But Boris,
How extreme would you consider the Negev or the mediterranean beach? The sand and salt spray could be one argument in favour of larger cards, to avoid exposing the contact surfaces as often.

I have made a resolution to make card downloads *not in the field*. The best place I can think is (*stationary*) car. Also, my PD7X came with car adaptor, so I won't be spending batteries either.

I have 2 x 1 GB cards which should be enough for my style of shooting for quite a lot.

Negev (unless it winds) is just blisteringly hot. The sea shore is the same. But it usually winds on the shore... Well, like I said - enter the car ;-).

Boris
