It's a matter of wants and needs vs. money to spend... like
everything it sems...
Yes.
After 3/4 of a year shooting on average 200-300 exposures per week, I
know what I need in lenses for the DS very well now. A 20-35, 35/2,
50/1.4, 14/2.8 and one longer lens between 75 and 135mm is what I use
greater than 95% of the time, although I have others as well. I'm
enticed to add both the FA28 and FA77, although I'm reluctant because
I don't really need them.
I happen to have Canon 20, 28, 50, 100mm lenses still. That covers
most of my ground; it would be nice to have a 14L for the 20D, don't
need it for the 5D. Were I to jump back to a 20D or 5D, I'd buy the
17-40L, sell the 20, add the 24-105L, in that order. Done, all needs
covered.
But the Pentax DS is working fine for me. I see no compelling reason
to consider changing systems again at this time. I'd rather spend my
money on travel expenses, paper and ink at this point.
Others, with other needs, should consider what serves them best ... I
see no reason for the constant hand-wringing about what Pentax might
or might not deliver in the future.
