WR> That has more to do with Canon's manufacturing prowess than anything else.
WR> Pentax is a small company with limited resources.
WR> Canon is a large company willing to put unlimited resources into buying
WR> whatever market they choose to go after.
Also, they are very fond of leaving beta-testing to the customers...
Vis the 20D battery grip recall (after about 6 months of numerous
complaints), the file corruption with 4>GB cards on 1DsII, the another
file corruption problem with certain cards (fault of both Canon and
Lexar or Sandisk, I don't remember), and other errors with 20D which
Canon was very reluctant to acknowledge (I know of a pro for whom it
took several calls up to the CEO of national Canon subsidiary to get
two 20D exchanged!). To be fair, Nikon has got similar history of
problems with the D2H bodies, which they finally acknowledged a big
problem in some chips with free out-of-warranty repair...
So I don't think it is so good for Canon to release products that
quickly. Many people won't buy a new camera from them until it has
been at least 6 months out in the wild "beta" testing...
Good light!
