the first trick is that Pentax is a small company and can't easily work on both at the same time. the second trick is that the 645D is going to cost a lot of money and if people are going to have to spend as much or more as a Canon 1DsMk2, who is going to buy it?

Well, that's about what we're all looking for. I want a 5D spec body, and I'll pay 5D money for it. Give me 12 megapixels, a fast buffer and good write time. I don't expect to see full frame. But that kind of camera doesn't replace the 645D, which is much higher spec. I keep hearing people say that Pentax should be marketing a 35mm FF camera with specs close to what the 645D is purported to support. That isn't going to happen.
