it was raining heavily most of the morning. just as i stepped outside, it was a steady drizzle as i took that particular one. also, i wasn't paying attention and had left my camera set to ISO 400 for that shot. luckily, for that subject, it didn't matter enough to notice.

i was in the Adirondacks the weekend before Canadian Thanksgiving, my usual time to go up, and the colors were not nearly as good as in past years. near Lake Placid gets swamped with people from Quebec Columbus day weekend. it was nice and warm, but not much color.
