Well, making them available on CD is probably a service to many (not
everyone has a highspeed connection). You might just as well make the
buck as someone else. OTOH you can not complain too loudly, you do not
exactly own the copyrights yourself. Pentax is not likely to complain,
however the copyright on the K-1000 Service Manual* is not owned by Pentax.
*Note to list members: That manual is more than just a service manual
for the K-1000 it is also a basic manual on SLR repair, and thus good
to have for anyone interested camera repair. It was published 1978 by
National Camera, Inc. Technical Training Division (They were a
correspondence school for camera repair technicians. They do seem to
still be in business in a minor way). I have an original copy and would
not be without it. I ordered it a couple of years ago from their
