Sandra,
Pentax has released two firmware updates for the *ist DS. You can
tell what's installed on your camera currently by holding down the
Menu button when you turn on the main power switch ... the current
firmware revision will be displayed on the rear LCD. The latest
revision is v1.02 from the Pentax USA website:

There is both release information and instructions there.
