I have a card reader all I need is a
card to put in it once in a while. But
the AC supply is an over-rated device.
For 12 Euro I can get a 6V lead acid
(gel) accumulator which is not subject
to blackouts, brownouts, surges and
other glitches. Last year a large birch
was blown onto the power line at the end
of our property and the power was off
for days. There is a hell of a blizzard
going on right now and the buses in
Helsinki are going off the road and/or
getting stuck. Here its snowing and
blowing like crazy. The lights have gone
up and down a couple of times already.
If I do get an AC adapter it will not be
used when cleaning the CCD. I have a La
Crosse in the mail and have two sets of
fully charged NiMH and even 8 NiCds that
are still in good shape. I'll keep the
two lithiums for special occasions.
I wish I had some of that film to
protect the LCD. Its already covered
with finger prints. Extraordinary care
and attention is needed when picking up
the camera with the screen facing away
from you.

On that note, I'd suggest you get a battery charger and rechargable
batteries, as well as a card reader (all three things are quite cheap).
You'll definitely need the charger kit, and the reader is faster and
safer than reading the cards directly from the camera (e.g. if the
batteries are low when you're uploading into the PC you risk losing the
images).
You're going to love this camera, I've got film gathering dust since I
bought mine a few months ago.
