I remember it being discussed on the list, though I can't seem to find any
reference to it.  I've handled both lenses (the Tamron and the Pentax)
myself and they are very simular.  The Pentax version is slightly better
built, has far better markings, and has SMC.  It lacks the distance window
of most of the other Pentax FA lenses.  I haven't had much expirence
shooting with the Pentax version, but I wasn't too impressed with the
Tamron.  This is not be confused with the 28-80mm F3.5-4.7 lens which is a
Pentax design, and is a better lens or I hear (never used it).
