While we're still on the power supply matter can you tell me which is positive (+) on the AC mains adapter plug? The outside or the pin. I'm making up a lead with spades on one end and a concentric plug on the other to use a 6V 8AH lead acid gel accumulator when the camera is on the microscope, or when cleaning the sensor. I'm guessing it's the pin -- but I have a small flash here that has things the other way round.

*Please* consider adding a fuse to the wiring. If you brush the connector against something conductive and short them together, the battery will torch the insulation off the wire in nothing flat.

        Others have answered the polarity issue... it's on the camera.

Please do share how well it works. I suspect it will last a *long* time.
