well, that is what i was thinking for digital P&S. B&H has a lot of these
listed. every one of these is camera-specific for the depth rating that she
is looking for and there isn't much competition. if her camera is not
supported by an existing housing, she has to get a new camera that has an
available housing. the Canon housings with the rating she is looking for
cost nearly as much as the camera. many of the others are the same relative
cost.

Subject: Re: Underwater cameras
I've seen some digital P&S things that come with a housing.
http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-130-ft-Underwater-Digital-6-4-Camera-Scuba-Dive-NR_W0QQitemZ7191309486QQcategoryZ1300QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
is an example.
I think this sort of thing is the speed my friend is best suited to, she
is a novice diver, her camera should be as simple as possible.
Anyway, is this sort of thing OK for what it is, or are there ather
cameras or housing/camera combinations better.
There is a budget in place, she needs bang for the buck, not bucks for the
bang.
Thanks Herb
