It looks light struck to me. I'd say either in the can or the lab screwed up in processing.

I mean, where did the horizontal red band come from? This is a scan from film, and the band is clearly visible on the negative as well (as green rather than red, obviously.) So what may be causing this? Is it stray light? Shutter problem? Something wrong with the film or development? (Oh no, I'm feeding the digital buffs...) The same effect is visible on one more frame on the film. Another is almost completely covered in red, to put it that way, but that might be caused by something else entirely (filter?). The rest look just fine. Notice that the band is *vertical* on the film.

No, I don't think Super Goof was flying by when I took this picture...
