I haven't really got any pearls of wisdom to share, but if the CA
correction tools in PS aren't working it may be sensor bloom induced
purple fringing.

Here's an extract from a tip Godfrey made about Sept. 21 in a thread
titled "Purple Fringing"

In Photoshop:
- Make a color selection of the offending areas.
- Create an HSV adjustment layer, which will automatically
generate a mask for that selection.
- Choose magenta/purple to match the selection.
- Tune the saturation/hue to blend it into the surroundings.

I've been using this is the technique since with good success.
