Hi,
I've been playing with a M50/1.4 on an MX and
before now I've never taken much not of the DOF scale on the lense. Now by
looking at it implies that if I focus to about 12 feet and set the aperture to
F22, then everything from 6 feet to infinity will be infocus. So now getting to
my point, if I was shooting a landscape and I wanted lots of the foreground in
focus then I would focus to 12 feet instead of infinity. Hope this makes
sense?
When I shoot most landscapes I focus the
camera to infinity, but by focusing to 12 feet I would actually have more in
focus. What would I be sacrificing by focusing to 12 feet at F22 in stead of
infinity at F22?
Hope my ramblings make sense.
Thanks,
Paul Jones
