I used the newer program he bcin> installed,Nero (i had an older Roxio burn bcin> program he took off). Nero and Roxio on the same PC together are known to cause problems. If Roxio was not uninstalled completely _before_ the installation of Nero this may be your case. I used Nero with different CD and DVD burners for years, and never had any problem with it.

This is very strange, the burner programs shouldn't interfere with the internet connection settings. Make sure you don't have a spyware/trojan/dialer program on your system.
