If you're just looking for some way to generate a gallery to upload to
the web you might look into "Porta"

It's a free, down loadable, small program that will take a folder of
jpeg or tiff files and create the correct files to upload. It
automatically resizes the picture files to the right size for thumbnails
and viewing. One example of what it does is here -
