Hi, Matt,

I've seen a few Carl Zeiss Flektogon 2.0 20mm lenses for auction on eBay
of late. They seem to go for over $100 US. I don't have direct
experience with them, but I've heard that optically they are fine lenses,
mechanically perhaps not as good as a Tak. One problem is that the ones
that I've seen on eBay over the last few weeks have been from Europe (I
think there's one for auction now from the UK currently around 56 Pounds),
which (along with the prices) has scared me off.

There is also a Flektogon 4.0 or 4.5 20mm, which I've heard is an
optically superior lens to the faster one, but I'm guessing that's a bit
slow for you.

They were made for Praktica M42's, so they wouldn't allow open-aperture
metering on your F.

Personally, for what these are going for, I'm going to hold out for a Tak
(I'm also looking to "widen" my collection), but I just thought I'd pass
this along.

regards,
frank
