a couple of notes on those two articles. apparently in the Pentax press
release announcing earnings, they said something to the effect of "senior
management will stop designing its cameras. also, they have decided to
target designs to specific markets, such as the US and Europe, instead of
having the same designs for domestic and export." Konica Minolta has stated
and seems really to be pulling out of all but the highest end P&S digital
market and concentrating most of its efforts on DSLRs. still, from all
reports, KM seems to be selling more DSLRs than Pentax, almost twice the
rate.
