Actually, it was the tripod, but that worked to my advantage in the end. I was out shooting video for the project I'm doing for my digital video class. I had the video camera on the tripod so he didn't pay any attention while I snapped away with my still camera. Really odd, come to think of it: My camcorder is a tiny JVC consumer cam, and my still camera was the ist-D with battery grip and the 28-70/2.8 with lens hood attached.
