Never underestimate the power of bad tools. A very long time ago I tried to learn to play the guitar. I was given an inexpensive learning guitar by the instructor which was included in the cost of the course. My fingers always hurt and I could barely bend the strings to reach the fretboard. I gave it up as hopeless, that I just wasn't talented enough. Years later I picked up a good guitar and was amazed, (though I still didn't have any talent, but that's besides the point).

I made my best offer at $10 and they accepted it. So the lens is on its
way for $20 including UPS shipping. I am a beginner and my skills will
not do justice to a great lens anyway :-) So I felt that let me play with
something. Though when I made the offer, I never thought they will accept
it. Wife spent $80 on some organic cosmetics or some such nonsense.
I just had to get something.... Thanks Don. Gaurav

Not an auction so it should be OK.

I have 2 of these and they are a surprisingly good little lens for the
almost "give-away" price.
If anyone is looking for a cheap knock around or spare short zoom
this is quite a deal.
Here's a quick snap of an artificial flower at 80mm, f/5.6 and about
2.3 to 1, on the ist-D at ISO 200 by the light of a single table lamp.
