Pentax 645's with lens seem to cost between €250,- and €300,-. I thought

Is my memory deceiving me, or are prices for MF crashing?
Yes, medium format prices are plunging. Just have a look through the
eBay Pentax medium format category. I found a 645 with 120 film insert
and 75mm lens for 375 USD "buy it now" price!
I saw that one too :)
For film shooters who don't need ultra-wide or very long telephoto
lenses, medium format should be pretty hard to resist these days.
Hmmm, I can't get film or development locally I think, so I'd have to do
that myself. That further limits me to black and white. That, plus the
extra cost that is undoubtedly involved (lenses, decent tripod (?),
enlarger lens) and the bulk of the camera holds me back... Oh, and the
fact that I don't think I'm 'though' with my K-mount camera's ;-)
Out of curiosity: is a 645 suited for general photography? I somehow link
MF to landscapes and studios exclusively, but that might be my
misconception. And how is the user interface (I think it changed from 645
to N to NII) in practice?
Some they seem to be resisting, though. I suspect many aren't as
anti-digital as they claim and are really waiting for DSLR's to get
better and cheaper...
;-)
You could very well be right. Or they want at least some modern features:
the 645NII and 645FA lenses are still quite pricey, I think...
