not speculation. Pentax has said that they will announce a new DSLR body
based on an existing DSLR body in February that goes for about the same
price as the *istDS2/DL bodies.

I would speculate that the most important thing about this is that it
offers direct sales. Isn't there speculation of a new product
announcement around Jan?
