The 285, and 283 both have a true manual guide number of about 80 (checked with a couple of different flash meters). If you use it on auto you won't notice that the advertising department determined it was 120.

BTW, I've measured the trigger voltage at 8v or less... no worries there. Seems to be an impressive unit... just got one from ebay. On-board meter seems pretty accurate, although probably a bit overrated at [EMAIL PROTECTED] probably around 100 or so.
