Is this on your Mac OS system or your Windows system?

On Mac OS X, you set the preferences for what to do when a camera or card reader are connected using the Image Capture application.

Most of the time, I use iView MediaPro to transfer image files from card to computer because it unwinds all the in-camera folder hierarchy and dumps the files into the directory I want efficiently. It also puts up a thumbnail view of all the files as they are transferred so I can see what's there quickly. Image Capture can do the same thing.

It's easy to just drag and drop the directory from card to computer as well, but the convenience is worth it.
