Right now I'm using the Epson ink, The C86 uses Pigment Ink unlike the R series below the R2400 which use dye ink.

The only caveat is for Black-Only printing, the C86 is very variable unit to unit, with the majority being unsuitable. If you want reliable B&W printing, you need to get the MIS EZ inkset, unless you are one of the Lucky Few (Like me) who gets a C86 which will output good quality B) prints.

The nice thing about Black Only printing is the prints are very luminous, as you get the paper wite coming through the image, which the multi-ink B&W prints lack.

I think the C86 is selling pretty cheap theses days. Might have to consider this option. I don't like the Canon S 800 for B&W. Gives a greenish tint, that apparently onlyi can see. The SO and daughter don't see it.:-)

What ink set up would you be using for this Adam.

Matte paper. Moab Kayenta paper is even better. The C86, being a Quad Ink Printer, quite thouroughly sucks for colour. Next up is getting the MIS EZ inkset and trying a QuadBlack setup.
