I'm picking this up from Mark's comments about his search for recovery software in the "another harassment by police story" thread. Thought it might be interesting to some. I was down in Tampa last week for the YSL finals (my boy was playing for the Ottawa Fury U-17 Soccer team). Took a ton of photos and was doing a lot of downloading to a laptop (USB 1.0 - deadly!). Managed to make two memory cards unreadable on separate days. Arrived home yesterday and started scouring the web to find a recovery programme which could recover RAW files (I had shot RAW only - no jpeg). Tried three different progs including one recommended by Sandisk, to no avail. Hours of googling later, came across Photorescue http://www.datarescue.com Only $29 and it did the trick! So big thumbs up from me for the Photorescue programme.
