Unusually for us, we won't be doing anything this year (in fact dinner looks like a baked potato with fixings). We're spending the long weekend taking up the old, stained hardwood floor in our living room, and replacing it with a new floor (maple, this time, rather than oak). That's more than enough work to keep us busy; finding time to cook as well just wasn't going to happen (in fact I'm not sure we'll manage to complete the task in four days). Still, with a UK upbringing we're still not too tied to these odd colonial festivals :-) We usually pull out the stops for Christmas, which is when we'll do our turkey.
