I've only ever experienced lines across the length of the frame, not along the 
short side, what was the orientation of the frame as you might simply be seeing 
flare from a light source outside the frame?

If what you are seeing is single coloured lines across the length of the frame 
there is no conclusion as to the source of such errors and no solution. There 
is speculation that it's temperature or power supply oriented or potentially 
optical excitation of row electronics.

Manual cloning in an image editor is the only real way to eliminate the 
problem.
