One thing I love about my digital Pentax *istDS, is the fact that I can change "film types" in "mid-roll", by changing the contrast, saturation, ISO setting, etc, whenever I feel like it. Each frame I shoot can have its own personality, if I want. The only film camera that I know of which can compete with this, is a view camera or other large sheet-film camera. You certainly won't get this flexibility from 35mm or medium format gear.
For the record, I would love to shoot with a large format view camera--if only I could afford to purchase and use one. That's the only sort of film camera I can work up any serious amount of lust for these days.
take care, Glen
