For some reason, I think it's easier to see faces and figures in fire than it is in cloud formations or almost any other naturally occurring "random" pattern. I shot several images of this fire, and it looks like there are faces and figures in several of those shots. Also, the patterns that are captured by the camera tend to look very different than what the eye perceives at the moment the shutter button is pressed. It was fun to watch the instant replay on the back of the *istDS, to see exactly how the image differed from what I expected it might look like.
