I keep all original numbers. Once when I had the second Pentax body, I added letter "B" in front of all file names to avoid duplications. When copying the files, - I usually save them in a directory that is named like: 2005-09-21-Segovia , where the date reflects either the date when the pictures were taken (for a 1-2 day series), or if they were taken on several different days,- the day of transfer (or the last day of shooting). The word(s) after the date indicates the place/event/... that will help me to find the pictures in the future.
The biggest problem I have is to keep track of the CDs and DVDs where I store my original images as well as those for which the work is completed. Does anybody use any simple software for keeping contents of the CDs and DVDs? Igor
