The DA 12-24 arrived today. I'm very pleased with the build quality. It
has a slightly nicer feel than the DA 16-45, which is very good itself.
The zoom is tight and smooth as is the focus ring. The manual focus
feels quite good, and I found it reasonably easy to focus by eye for
such a wide lens. In size, it's almost identical to the 16-45 with both
barrels compressed, but when zoomed the barrel extends only slightly,
whereas the DA 16-45 extends quite a bit to reach 16. The front glass
appears to be almost exactly the same size as that of the DA 16-45, but
the filter ring is considerably larger at 77mm. Of course the wide ring
allows use of a fairly substantial tulip hood. I have to do an interior
decor shoot with it this weekend, so I'll post a pic or two at that
time.
