Does anyone have any opinions of, or experience with, "photo"

I asked a similar question a few weeks ago and got a mish-mash of
answers as well. This week I was in the local processing lab here and
I asked the owner what he used. To my surprise he uses an Epson 4870
flatbed (the current model is the 4990 he says) for all his scanning
and he showed me some results from his medium format camera. They
were beautiful 16X20's. He said he used to have a Nikon film/slide
scanner but the results were so much better with the Epson that he
threw it out!
That alleviated any worries I had about buying a flatbed for my MF work!
