I prefer it to the more-frequently-praised (here on the PDML) A 35-105/3.5 (I still have two of the 28-135's and I no longer have either of the 35-105's). As for the price, I'd say that it is pretty typical, although once in a while they go for a bit less than that. I think that eventually the price will come down somewhat, as I don't think the lens, despite how nice it is, is ever likely to generate any "cult status" - <g>. Fred
