I too have some cibachromes from the seventies that look brand
new. Good stuff, but it took some really nasty chemistry to
accomplish it. I hope I never smell that again :-).
According to Henry Wilhelm, Cibachromes have excellent dark storage
capabilities, but their light fading (on display) is only somewhat
better than colour photographic paper.
I have Cibachrome copies I made myself in 1987 and they have been
hanging on a wall since in varying light. They are unaltered, it
least when compared with the original slides.
