Well, Christian, I just don't see it that way, although considering the
rampant pedophilia paranoia that's infesting the US, I can accept that some
may find it inappropriate. But abusive?! Sick? How many of the
self-righteous "guardians" of our children never had a sip or two of beer
or wine when they were kids, sneaked a smoke in the basement, had some
coffee, or stayed up past their bed time (I understand that's now
considered abusive).
My parents, who were abstemious, allowed me to try beer and hard liquor
when I was young. All the kids in our family had a sip of wine or beer
every now and then.
Shel, you missed my point entirely. I was NOT saying that it WAS kiddie
porn. I think it's a great shot. My concern, as those of us on this list
have discussed a lot of late, is that it is a damn shame that if you were to
post that picture somewhere, I can guarantee you that there would be some
zealots that would crucify you.
Hey, I think that sucks.
Perhaps that is the biggest reason of all to post it, then. Without
taking anything away from the picture, which I find charming.
But, in the light of other discussions we've had about kids and photos
lately, I thought this was a perfect example of a great shot, that,
unfortunately could be turned into a negative by those who think their
agenda is the right one. (er...no pun intended...)
PS -- I think I like the warmer one of the two.
