G'day Don. I find the 35-135 to be a handy walk around lens on the *ist Ds. The Macro comes in handy every now and them. I find it to be sharp enough @ 5.6 and above.
The only down sides are the rather long close focus distance and the crop factor at 35mm. At 135 with the crop factor, it reaches out very well. Hooroo.
