I don't really see the point of these things. If you don't use the LCD to review images, turn off the review function. If you do, and you're in sunlight, just use your hand to shade it when you're doing review. If you just want to protect it from damage and you're not using it, a piece of tape works fine. Why fit a bulky shade assembly?

The only complaint is that closing it is kinda awkward as you have to press the sides in and at the same time push the cover down. If it was a one finger operation it would be better.

It also prevents "chimping"!  :-)
