Actually it's not the approach path to Brize that's the problem - it's
take-off. We're off to the side in a dip. The noisiest aircraft type
here are old VC-10 converted tankers and they are horrible on full chat.
Fortunately there's not many of them and they come and go occasionally.
Others are Tri-Stars, C-17s and Fat Albert. It can be a busy base, but
only when NATO are up to no good!

Generally quiet though. Maybe that's because they're re-surfacing the
runway ;-)
