Sounds to me like the resister has been "knocked" out of position.
I'm wondering if the meter cell doesn't just need cleaning.
It should be visible as a small glas glob somewhere in the mirror box.
A Q-Tip dampened with rubbing alcohol might do wonders.

Work the ISO resistor some.
That is, twist the ASA dial thru all the ASA
settings.
Do it enough times to get any oxidation off of
the contacts underneath.
And also run the exposure compensation ring back
and forth, too, while
you're at it.
May as well run the aperture simulator a few times
as well. On the LX it is
as prone to cause exposure problems as the ISO
resistor, I expect this is
the same situation on other Pentax bodies.
