Thanks for the info. I might buy a matte cartridge and try it out. Bear in mind that us 2100 users get a different driver package so if the 2200 driver has been updated it doesn't necessarily meant that those updates made it to our model :(
I might try downloading a 2200 driver as Godfrey suggested and seeing what happens.
BTW I do switch my printer off when it's not in use. I only use it about once a week at the moment.
