Just returned to Brisbane after 4 days on our Sunshine Coast, which for once
lived up to it's name (it usually begins to rain as we drive up, about 15
minutes away from it) - temperatures in the mid to high 30's, sun blazing
down, in the pool with cold beer in hand most of the time. Grandchildren
shrieking with delight as their Dad tossed them up in the air and caught
them just under water! Middle generation blokes competing to see who could
make the biggest 'bomb' in the pool, us oldies smiling indulgently and
having another plate of cold chicken and ham, washed down with a glass or
three of good Ozzie chardonnay - sigh, now it's back to work!
But it doesn't get much better than that....

Some in-laws of mine are holidaying in Brisbane where temperatures are
predicted to hit about 40C. At least they'll have a swimming pool.
