When I called, KEH said they couldn't promise its arrival prior to Christmas. I told them I didn't care since it was for me. Of course, it arrived on the 23rd and the only differences I could discern between their excellent+ and a new lens are the absence of the box, the soft case and the instruction manual. I typically toss the box, have several cases that I don't use and have other instruction manuals that pertain to this lens. The lens looks cosmetically perfect to my eyes (they must be amazingly picky) and the resultant pictures are just what I bought the lens for - any imperfections are due to operator error.
