Absolutely not. It certainly does not stop down when you do.

I said pretty much. The "green button" works fine for an Aperture preferred mode, and if you want to do manual metering, which I prefer anyway, you can hold the DOF lever in and get stop down metering just like on a Spotmatic.

You did and I noticed it but still thought to highlight the important difference. There is *no* way I would use (again) a lens that switches off the lights in exchange for some DOF.
