Shel - I've never washed any of my bags. The closest I've come to cleaning them is either brushing them with a stiff brush or blasting them with a burst of air from the air compressor.
I have a bunch of bags, but primarily use two. The Tamrac Velocity 9 is a one strap sling bag that is worn like a backpack, but easily swings forward for access. It was great when I was having shoulder problems. The other bag is a Domke F-3x "Super Compact". Over the last few months I've probably used this bag more often than any. I am amazed at the amount of stuff it holds in a relatively small size. Frankly, I think the Domke has the best shoulder strap on the market. I'd go as far as saying the strap makes the bag successful. Rubber grip strips are woven into the fabric of the strap and it will not slip off of your shoulder. The strap is a bit over 2" wide. Even though it is not padded it distributes the weight without cutting into your shoulder. It's quite comfortable. See you later, gs <http://georgesphotos.net>
